4 November 2005 - Riverside EOI Attracts Strong Interest
The East Perth Redevelopment Authority’s (EPRA) recent release of 15,000sqm of prime inner city land at the former Metrobus Depot site in its Riverside project has generated strong interest from developers.
EPRA CEO Tony Morgan said the six lots in Riverside’s Queens Precinct were being offered in a two-stage Expression of Interest (EOI) campaign, with the first phase coming to a close on 18 November 2005.
“Interest in the sites has been very encouraging and it’s not surprising given the location of the lots, and the current high demand for inner city development sites, particularly in this part of town,” he said.
“Well located land within the City is becoming a scarce resource and developers are seeing EPRA’s Riverside project, offering river and city views, as a very attractive investment opportunity.”
Mr Morgan said EPRA took feedback from the development industry on board when preparing the Queens Precinct lots for sale. “Developers have told us that they feel comfortable about the offering and are happy with the flexible development timeframes that EPRA has provided,” he said.
“EPRA is committed to delivering sustainable communities and a partnered approach with the development industry will be essential to the Riverside project’s success.”
The second phase of the EOI will involve a short list of selected developers preparing conceptual drawings for their preferred lots to ensure the best possible design outcome for the sites.
Developers have the opportunity to bid for just one, all six, or a combination of the lots.
The lots range in size from 1,608sqm to 3,285sqm and all offer great views to either the river, city or the beautiful Queen’s Gardens.
